Biting your tongue.

Sometimes the best thing to do in situations is to bite your tongue, take a step back and do nothing. This is a good way to heal or rescue a situation, but the trick is knowing when to do so. We all think that we are more likely to succeed if we involve ourselves, assert ourselves, and put up a good fight. But there are situations where biting your tongue and retreating is the smartest thing you could do. These are the situations in which you need to just say and do nothing:
  1. When they are throwing a tantrum.
  2. When there is nothing to gain from engaging with them.
  3. When you get caught in between two people.
  4. When he/she/it isn't that important to you.
  5. When the issue is over.
  6. When you've done your best.
We should all learn from this and take the above into consideration and apply it when in certain situations.

Finding yourself.

It's important in life to find your purpose and what it is that you are meant to do. Whether it's to become a millionaire or a postman, when you find your passion and your purpose, you're will start taking form and become meaningful. We are on this earth for a short amount of time, it's important to make the most of it by doing what we love and spending time with the people that we love. At the end of the day, that is all life really amounts to and yet we make things so complicated. Yes, it is fair to say that life is hard, but sometimes we make it even harder by putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves. Sometimes we just need to take it easy and let life 'find' us, instead of trying to find ourselves.

Watch this space.

Someday I’ll be what I am meant to be, maybe not now but someday. Our 20s usually bring out our first serious, independent, adult decisions. As liberating as this may be, it can also be very scary. I haven’t found my niche yet, but the day I do is the day that I make a difference in this world. Someday I will do or be something special, something that’s worth remembering. They say that psychologically people tend to accommodate themselves with whatever they have, and by people's late 20s, they will have made peace with their dreams. Until that day comes, I will just hang in there and enjoy the ride called life. Watch this space.

Sailor-mouth syndrome.

Swearing is a filthy habit which most of us have grown accustomed to over the years. Wherever we go, there are always people swearing, and you'll find that television also play a big role in encouraging this foul talk. If you have sailor-mouth syndrome, it's time to clean up your act.

What comes out of your mouth generally reflects the kind of person you are and sets the stage for how people respond to you. Using foul language gives others the message that you have a lack of restraint, professionalism and in a way projects that you have no respect for yourself or for others involved in a conversation. As with all bad habits, the first step to overcoming something is to recognise that you have a problem. Listen to your speech and ask people whether your language is out of hand and even record a conversation with someone and listen to it afterwards. Add it to your list of New Year's resolutions to break this habit completely. It's something you'll want to do.

Face your fears.

There's nothing worse than being afraid of something or someone. Fear is an emotions that can stop you from living to your full potential, ad it can even cripple your if you let it. Facing one's fears can be really terrifying, but not facing it can be potentially worse. It's normal to avoid the things we find scary, but that does not mean that it's the best thing to do. When people avoid certain fears of theirs, they tend to just compound the problem and make it worse- sometimes to the extent that it ruins their lives.

There are two popular treatments for phobias, and they are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy. There isn't any good factual evidence that hypnotherapy will work, but CBT however is really good in treating both specific and social phobias. With this treatment, people are gradually exposed to their fears, beginning with their least feared situation. It can be used to correct dysfunctional thoughts about fear of failure, humiliation or embarrassment.

Bridesmaids.

One of the funniest films I've seen last year was the film called Bridesmaids. It was produced by Judd Apatow who also produced The 40-Year-Old Virgin. The film is about a bridesmaid whose life unravels as she leads the bride and other bridesmaids down the road to matrimony.

I found this film hilarious, there are lots of very funny scenes with a funny cast as well! By the end of it, it has a bit of a feel-good aspect to it without it really being a romantic comedy. Here are some quotes from the film that I thoroughly enjoyed:

Annie: [Drunk on plane, pulls open curtains to coach after getting kicked out of first class] It's called civil *rights*. This is the '90s.

Becca: You are more beautiful than Cinderella! You smell like pine needles, and have a face like sunshine!

Ted: This is so awkward. I really want you to leave, but I don't know how to say it without sounding like a dick.

Megan: I'm glad he's single because I'm going to climb that like a tree.

Helen's Stepson: I've seen better tennis playing in a tampon commercial.

Gil: Before you make those kinds of demands you should put a note on your door that says, "Do not come into my room and read my diary and wear my clothes."

Ted: I wouldn't want to make you explain what our relationship is to all those people. That would suck for you.

Rhodes: Do you want to tell a cop about it? We're just like priests except we would tell everybody afterwards.

Rhodes: If I wasn't a cop anymore, I would still go out with a gun and shoot people.

Brynn: We would like to invite you to no longer live with us.

Annie: This is the first time I've seen you look ugly, and that makes me happy!

Annie: It's a good tub. I slept there for my 30th birthday.

How to deal with stress.

Stress is something we all go through. Solutions may not be found to all kinds of stress but there are always quick fixes that may help.

Tips on how to deal with stress:

  1. Clear your mind - Breathe in, count to 10 and slowly breathe out. Repeat, listening to the sound of your breathing as you inhale and exhale. Keep doing it for 60 seconds.
  2. Watch something on TV - By just anticipating watching your favourite film or programme, it lowers feelings of depression and watching it actually gets rid of the stress completely.
  3. Picture happy things in your mind - When thinking about happy things or things that you enjoy, your brain will soon relax and you won't feel as tense any more.
  4. Take charge - The number one stress factor is feeling out of control. So make a list of what stresses you out the most in your daily life so that you can tackle them and find solutions.
  5. Be grateful - People who show appreciation in their life are happier than their less-grateful counterparts. So take a few minutes of your day to reflect on five things you truly appreciate.

Be a fighter.

Martial arts are fast becoming the coolest way to get into shape. So we all could kick start our fitness regimes with some feisty fighting moves and learn to work out like warriors. There are many different martial-art styles to choose from, each giving you an entire body workout and empowering you to fight back in an attack scenario. It's for you to decide which will suit you best:

  • CAPOEIRA - It's an Africa-Brazilian martial art that combines dance, fighting, music and gymnastics. The moves are similar to those seen in the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Capoeira develops endurance, flexibility and alertness, as well as physical strength.
  • JEET KUNE DO - This is a hardcore style of street fighting created by kung fu legend Bruce Lee. Jeet Kune Do incorporates the most effective attack and defence techniques from different martial-art forms including Muay Thai, kick boxing and jujitsu. It's a cardiovascular work-out, and it's a great way to lose weight and get into shape.
  • ESCRIMA - This is a Filipino blade and stick-fighting art. Besides kicking, punching and wrestling, you'll learn to use a weapon like a samurai master! Escrimawill enhance your reflexes and timing. You will also gain the respect and understanding of a blade, and your self-defence awareness will be improved.

Linkin Park in Cape Town - 7 Nov 2012

I had a pretty restless sleep last night. I had night sweats, and found myself tossing and turning the entire night. It has to be the anticipation of the concert of the year! At 9pm tonight, I will be seeing the band that I've been waiting to see for many years, tonight I will be seeing Linkin Park perform at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town. My entire life will have been made in those few hours of their performance.

Linkin Park has played an important role in my life, and through their songs, I have gotten through some really tough times. Tonight I will sing my heart out and treasure every single second of their performance. I will blow kisses to Chester and Mike and I will enjoy myself with the wonderful friends I'll be with.

How to tackle cellulite.

When it comes to cellulite, looking the other way may not be the best option. They say if you ignore it, it can get out of hand fast. There are different degrees of cellulite, some are mild forms of it and some cellulite are irreversible because it is so advanced. But whatever the case may be, there are always ways to help reduce it, or reduce the look of it no matter how far along it may be.

Do the following to reduce your chances of developing cellulite, or to reduce your existing cellulite:

  1. Exercise - Exercise increases blood flow and tones your muscles - essential for smooth and taut thighs. The best exercises for targeting cellulite are walking, running, cycling, step aerobics, and a step or cross trainer machine.
  2. Endermologie - This is a special kind of deep-tissue massage and the only treatment that's been approved to treat cellulite.
  3. Massage - All kinds of massages, be it Swedish or shiatsu, stimulate circulation and can help to limit the onset of cellulite.
  4. Electric muscle stimulation - This uses little pads to zap muscles with an electric current, making them contract and relax.
  5. Body wraps - These treatments involve using various materials like clingfilm, foil and rubber to wrap the skin very tightly. It temporarily increases stimulation and helps you lose water from the fat cells.
  6. Cellulite creams - There is no evidence that these creams will work for everyone, but it can be beneficial as it contains ingredients that combat cellulite.
  7. Supplements - These usually contain plant and herb extracts such as ginko, grape seed bioflavanoids and kelp, which are said to increase circulation and break down fat.

Bitch in the house Alert!

She comes home tired after a long day at work being nice to everyone and taking everyone's crap. She's itching to pick an argument. Sound familiar?

It seems that 'House Bitches' aren't all supper stressed, highly strung top execs, struggling single mothers, and other women with good reasons to be in foul moods. They are women like you and me- young and childless, with decent jobs and nice boyfriends. So why are they coming home grumpy?

I
After a stressful day with no emotional outlet, a modern woman comes home and blasts her partner with full force of her feelings. As women, we're also suckers for responsibility. We struggle to delegate or leave our work worries in our in-trays each evening, so when our stress levels rise we quickly feel overloaded. It is a common story where partners become emotional punching bags and that's not not exactly fair but in one's "I-dos" it clearly states for better or for worse, so men just have suck it up and deal with it!

My favourite Cat in the Hat book is THE CAT IN THE HAT, because...

Dr. Seuss has written many children’s books which have been overwhelmingly successful best-sellers. The Cat in the Hat has done so well that the image of The Cat in the Hat has become a logo for Random House’s beginner books and the production logo for all of Seuss’s animated shorts and Dr. Seuss’s most popular character worldwide.
After two children hear a big thump while being alone at home, The Cat in the Hat appears and lures them in to come and have fun with him. He ends up entertaining them but while doing so he breaks things and messes up the entire house. But in the end he makes it up to the children and fixes everything before their mother gets home. I will never forget reading this book growing up, it played such a memorable role in my childhood and I have many fond memories of that time.

Why I have conversations?

If I think about how many conversations I have in a day, it’s actually pretty overwhelming. I can’t even begin to imagine how much information was processed throughout all those conversations during the day. Our brains absorb information like sponges, not just information, but the brain analyses and processes things quickly without us knowing, leaving us with a vast impression of people.

When I converse with people it’s usually for three reasons, namely:
  • I like the person, and I'm genuinely interested in what they’re saying.
  • Forced conversations (sigh). There is nothing worse than this, because most of the time it’s pretty difficult to get out of.
  • To fill the gaps. Group discussions or any discussion for that matter can be very awkward at times whether we like it or not. This is why most people will blabber on about useless things just to fill the silence and force normalcy. I guess we all can appreciate that because no one in their right mind likes awkwardness, I know I don’t!

Write your bucket list / 100 things to do before you die?

I'm not really an adventurous person, but even I want to achieve and accomplish certain things before I die. If I were to list my 100 things-to-do-before-I-die list, you would probably laugh. I would list the most inconsequential things ever to exist, and they would be very much achievable I must add.

I would love to see the world and travel to so many beautiful places in the world, and I'd love to taking cooking classes to 'enhance' my so to say, non existent culinary skills, and I would love to study many different things. There are so many things I could list but at the end of the day all everything really comes down to and all I truly care about is my family, my friends, my love, my kids, my job, and to see each and every one of them happy. If I had to die today knowing that they are happy and at peace, I would be content.

My big fat BIG dream.

My big fat BIG dream would be to get an awesome Public Relations job in the corporate sector, demand respect from my employees, and have them look up to me.

My big fat BIG dream would be to buy my own house and everything in it. There is nothing more valuable than a woman's independence.

My big fat BIG dream would be to live a healthy, happy and contented life with my family and friends.

My big fat BIG dream would obviously include being ridiculously wealthy. With hard work obviously.

My big fat BIG dream would be to open an animal shelter, specifically for stray cats, and help them find homes.

My big fat BIG dream is to have my family and those close to my heart, happy.

My big fat BIG dream would be to get married to my current boyfriend who I've been with since high school. I would love a big wedding with everyone there, and I would love to have lots and lots of babies and live happily ever after.

...my big fat BIG dream may be simple to some but it is everything that I could ever for.

Conventional is a good fallback position isn't it?

Personally, I would rather play it safe than go for something which may have an unexpected outcome. I've had lots of people assuming that I'm a pretty boring person, which in retrospect isn't that far off. So what if I am ‘boring’? So what if I don’t do awesome things, or take myself out of my comfort zone? I am who I am, and isn't that the beauty of this world- that we are all different?

I guess there will come a time in everyone’s life where they will be forced to go out of their comfort zone, and I am all for making a success of whatever it is in that case but I am perfectly happy just living my day-to-day life without being someone extraordinary. It doesn’t mean that I am compliant though, because whatever I do, I do it to the best of my ability- I am just not eager to always try new or different things. But hey, that’s just me.

Show your appreciation.

Life has the habit of going by so quickly that we forget to appreciate the important people in our lives. We are so caught up in demanding things like school, work, money and problems etc, that we forget to just take time out and focus solely on the people we love. Too often parents are too busy for their kids, kids are too cool for their parents, and people in love go about life feeling unappreciated. What we neglect to realise is that our time is limited. Learn how to say a simple 'thank you baby' or 'I appreciate you'. Life has a funny way of teaching us things, so let us not learn the hard way and do more for our loved one's before our time is inevitably up.

15 (unrealistic) ways to discover your destiny...

  1. Love signs - Refer to your star sign.
  2. The power of numbers - The key to a successful partnership lies in your date of birth.
  3. Elements of compatibility - Refer to your element: Earth, Fire Water and Air.
  4. Moon magic - The phase the moon was in when you and your parent first met could determine if your love can stand the test of time.
  5. Destiny years - This may be done via a reader.
  6. What's in a name - It is your name that holds the clues to your personality, destiny and your chances of success.
  7. Year of the sheep - This is a year in which to sort out feelings, improve relationships, and heal rifts.
  8. Your heart in your hand - One carries their emotions in the palm of their hand. The heart line gives you valuable clues about your emotional life, relationships and expectations.
  9. The long and the short of it - Are your fingers long or short? People with long fingers are slow, patient, and love to work on detail, while short fingered people are quick, inspirational, good at planning, and prefer looking at the bigger picture.
  10. Swings of fate - In a method of fortune-telling, you may use a pendulum. It can only provide yes and no answers.
  11. Moles and beauty spots - For centuries, people believed that moles and warts are significant indicators of character and fortune.
  12. Dice divination - Like the pendulum, using a dice is also quick and easy.
  13. Feng Shui - Using a compass, find the south-east corner of your home. This area will be your 'money-lucky' spot which can be enhanced to help you improve your finances.
  14. Apple peeling - Peeling an apple and throwing the entire peel over your shoulder will reveal the initial of your lifelong sweetheart.
  15. Candle magic - A powerful love ritual done with a candle, may lead to a very special meeting in the not-too-distant future.
Good luck with that!

Living on my own.

Now that I'm officially done studying, I consider myself to be a responsible adult. However, with responsibility comes independence. Someday I will be living on my own, and when I do I want to be fully prepared. Living on my own will be really scary for me, mostly because I'm used to and quite comfortable living with my parents.

Before moving into a place of your own, these are the things that everyone should consider:

  • CHOOSE WISELY - When choosing a place to rent or buy, investigate its surroundings carefully and find out what security measures are in place in your potential home and area.
  • PROTECT FROM THE INSIDE - Install good locks, burglar bars, a security gate and an alarm system linked to an armed response company if it doesn't have it already.
  • TRUST YOUR INTUITION - Never ignore your sense of intuition, if you get home and something seems out of place, don't assume that because you have burglar bars that you'll be safe. Contact the police immediately!
  • WOMEN SHOULD CONSIDER SELF-DEFENCE CLASSES - This will teach you the skills needed in order to prevent injury in an attack.
  • PROTECT FROM THE OUTSIDE - Don't welcome burglars to hide in your garden full of tall plants and trees, take care of it and trim where necessary to avoid this. You should also ensure entrances are well lit and could maybe even consider sensor lights.
  • BE AWARE OF STRANGER DANGER - When someone is at the door, give the impression that you're not alone by shouting out that you'l see who it is. You should also never let anyone unfamiliar inside no matter what the circumstances are.
We live in a very scary world today, let us be safe and look out for one another.

Reciprocity.

I never realised how crucial female relationships are to our well-being until recently. Having one-on-one chats, going shopping, or giving one another manicures may seem to be a way to pass the time, but ultimately it serves an important purpose. When females trade clothing and make-up tips, they're not only expressing themselves but also showering one another with compliments and genuine appreciation. But it has to go both ways. Just recently, I had a great conversation with a girl I just met. We talked about everything from our bodies to our outlook on life. Not only did she make me feel cared for, but she made me realise something valuable: Paying attention requires reciprocity.

Devotion to Denim.

You CAN find jeans that suit you - whatever  your body shape happens to be. Just follow this simple guide and discover the denims of your dreams:

  • FULLER FIGURE - Lean, straight- fitting jeans that sit just above the hips help slim and elongate your body. Stretch denim gives a softer, more fitted look without tightness that accentuates bulges.

  • BOYISH FIGURE - Fitted, low-slung jeans with a slight flare help create curves for a straight up-and-down body. Avoid very baggy jeans, they will make your butt look saggy.

  • PEAR SHAPE - Choose a low-waisted style that gives a relaxed line around your curves, and boot-cut flares to balance bulky thighs.

  • LARGE BUTT - Look for jeans that are low-slung at the front for a sexy waistline, and higher at the back for extra room. Boot-cut legs will help to balance out your figure.

  • SHORT LEGS - Avoid cropped jeans, turn-ups, baggy jeans and flares. Go for straight, fitted, floor-length jeans and wear them with heels.

Hot nail colours for Summer 2012.

As girls, we all love a bit of colour whether it's on our clothing, our accessories, or on our nails. The colours of the summer vary from cool pastels to bright neons and everything in between. Here are some of the colours you will want on your nails this summer:

1. Essie Bikini So Teeny: This perfect cornflower blue is really in this summer.

2. Deborah Lippmann Snow White & the Huntsman Set: This is sold as a set of two lacquers–Kiss and Dark Side of the Moon–in the classic good vs. evil pairing. I prefer the evil shade. Is that bad?

3. Chanel Holiday: Because it is orange and it is Chanel, and it is wonderful!

4. Dior Cosmo: From Dior’s “Summer Mix” collection which will be available soon, this colour evokes the spirit of its namesake cocktail. Just don’t lick your nails.

5.
Orly Flash Glam FX It’s Electric: This special effect top coat adds a little glitter when you need it.

You better check yourself before you wreck yourself!

We are always quick to speak and to judge others, let's be the change and start now!

1. Don't judge others and expect them not to judge you. It makes you exactly like them.

2. You will be judged in the same way that you judge others, and the amount you give to others will be given to you.

3. You will always notice a tiny speck of dust in your friends eye, but you don't notice the big piece of wood in your own eye, why?

4. Strive be be different and to be an individual.

5. Stay true to yourself and you will earn peoples respect.

I got sunshine on a cloudy day.

We have to face the fact that not every day is going to be like a bed of roses or a field of daisies. There are days where nothing can get us down, but there are also those days where we feel as if our world has come to an end. How do we remain positive when we are in a dark place? How do we get through the day without giving up? It is possible because life moves on. Whether we like it or not, what is today wont be tomorrow and so goes the waves of time. We just need to believe that everything we go through is a test and that it is happening for a reason, and the rest will sort itself out. Stay strong, and make the most out of the little ray of sunshine in every single day.

More of my favourites ♥

Another one of my favourite poems is a love poem by the talented E. E. Cummings. I hope you will love it as much as I do...

[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]
By E. E. CUMMINGS

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Young, Wild & Free.

In my life, I've had many fears about things that kept me compliant. I have risen beyond a few of them, but it is a work in progress. For me it is like training a child to do something it does not want to do. It requires a constant watch and a mental energy that is sometimes not there or unavailable. It is like being a watch-guard to a part of me. Liberation means to me a freedom from my own thoughts, feelings, wants, desires and fantasies. Freedom from the endless stories I tell myself. Freedom from MY perception of "reality and the way things should be." Liberation is full, and total surrender to Creation. Anything less would just be another prison.

Don't Hate!

'Don't Hate' is what is told to people who become envious or jealous about others’ successes. The envious, jealous, person is often referred to as “a hater.” The hater is either unable to acquire what they see someone else possess or, won’t make the effort to achieve it. The hater is bitter with the other person, and they are rightly called a hater because this is what envy and jealous behaviour does – it hates others for having something they don’t.

It's never good to envy what someone else has, it can be bad karma for you and bad luck for the person you were envying. Stay clear of feelings of jealousy, and if you do find that you're becoming jealous of someone, try to find the source of the issue and fix it before your jealousy takes over. After all, 'jealousy make you nasty'.

Love Sonnet

I absolutely love and appreciate all kinds of poetry, but this one has got to be in my top list of love poems:

‘Love Sonnet 130’ by William Shakespeare

My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips’ red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask’d, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare.

Facebook can be depressing...

Well, here's a list of 20 Facebook status updates that are super depressing:

Honestly I'm tired of pretending, I will do as you wish, leave you alone. But one day when my time is up, maybe then you'll understand how much you hurt me.

Each day when I wake up I ask myself - Is today the day I give in and give up?

Doesn't have the words to describe What's on my mind...

Hates it how one person can make you feel better in little to no time, yet drag you down just as fast. :/

wants to go where nobody knows my name. feel like going for a walk, alone,on the hillside or a lonely beach in the dark, with nothing but the moon to guide me.

Just when I thought nothing good was going to happen... You came into my life. &&Just when I thought everything was perfect... You tore it all down. </3

the hardest thing in life? stopping yourself from saying "I'm fine" and forcing yourself to explain when it would be so much easier to say "nothing, it's fine"

is having a "blah" kinda day :(

I really just feel like giving up. My heart just cant handle anymore pain.

Feels like every time i climb My Mountain another one Is right there

I say"I'm Fine"it means I want to break down, you ask if I'm OK and i say "Ya" I'm the opposite, and when u see me looking sad or upset, I'm 10X worse inside.

<-- may have his good days/laughing moments, but 99.999% of the time, he is depressed as hell :-/

I'm tired of hiding my feelings just to make everyone else happy when in the end I'm still miserable. When do I get MY turn to be happy?

Yes . he's smiling . Yes he laughs . Yes he claims to be fine .
But ... Really ... he's dying inside .. And ..You .. Believe his mask so easily ..

It seems the harder I try the more I fail

Says he's fine but he's going insane says he feels good but he's in a lot of pain says it's nothing but it's really a lot says he's okay but he's not

death eludes me, though I wish fervently for it to come and take away my pain.

You think you know. You think you know my personality, my thoughts, and my every move. But in reality you know the person that i pretend to be.

what does it say about life when i have to bribe myself to get out of bed in the morning with the promise that if i make it thru the day i can go back to bed?

Do you ever feel so alone, that even the voices in your head are quiet?

The ideal boyfriend.

Men are always so lost as to why their girlfriends are always mad at them about something. Most of the time it's because they forget the little things that matter. Below is  list of a few things that girls dream about:

1. A boyfriend who respects his woman and treats her well
A great boyfriend is a genuine person who considers his woman in every situation, understands that she's an equal part of the relationship and will be on her side no matter what. He's not the type that will be checking out other girls, but will keep his attention focused on the woman in his life. He won't degrade or abuse his woman and if he accidentally says something that hurts her, he won't hesitate to admit his mistake and apologize sincerely.

2. A boyfriend who inspires his woman to be better
A great boyfriend naturally gains a special place in his woman's life by helping her find what she wants in life and makes her understand and believe how important her happiness is to him. He helps change the way she sees the world and helps her stand out and live a happier life.

3. A boyfriend who satisfies his woman's romantic needs
A good boyfriend must satisfy his woman's every romantic need not by making love just for the sake of it, but by being passionate about it. He is spontaneous and knows the many ways to make her feel special. He also shows his partner the emotional intimacy she craves, communicates with her on every level and anticipates her desires and needs.

4. A boyfriend who loves his woman for who she is
A great boyfriend doesn't just love his woman physically. He loves his woman...flaws and all. He loves all of the strengths and weaknesses his lady has, but focuses on the good qualities she possesses to make her feel like a beautiful person, inside and out. Simply put, a great boyfriend makes his woman feel good about herself, accepts her as she is and never attempts to change her for his own selfish reasons.

5. A boyfriend who always makes his woman feel beautiful
A great boyfriend makes his lady feel that she is the most beautiful woman in the universe. He picks out something specific such as her pretty brown eyes, pearly smile or gorgeous figure and makes her feel that he's truly paying attention to her and not just sweet talking her.

Do your bit.

Whatever you do in your daily life, it is always for better or for worse. When you volunteer or participate in activities that have no benefit to you whatsoever, you're rectifying some of the damage done from the disconnection and self-interest that pervades our culture today. This is what fuels so much of the intolerance and fear rising in our unpredictable world. Through service to others you're defining the kind of person you want to be. And that's the one choice you always have in life - in each moment, in each decision, in every new encounter. Most of the time it does not cost you much, if anything at all, so do your bit and make this world a better place.

How to be happy alone.

1. Understand that you’re awesome alone.
You’re a valuable person, and you don’t need the approval of anyone else for that to be true. When you’re alone, remind yourself that it’s because you choose to be. It really is a choice. It’s very easy to find someone to spend time with, but when you have high standards for the people you allow into your life, you’re telling yourself that you’re better off by yourself than with someone who isn't a great fit for you.

2. Value your own opinions more than others.
Don't ask for advice unless you truly need it. Instead, ask yourself for advice. If you knew the answer to the problem that you have, what would it be? That’s your answer. The more time you spend asking yourself for advice, the less you start to need input from others. When you trust yourself to solve problems, you become a much stronger and more confident person, and you take on challenges that you wouldn't have felt capable of before.

3. Observe
Everywhere you go, make an effort to understand the other people around you. Learning how people operate when they think no one is watching will make you feel more connected to them.

4. Appreciate the silences.
The world is a busy place and, unless you take a moment to step away from it once in a while, it’s easy to forget how nice it is to simply sit alone and enjoy your own company.

5. Talk to yourself.
They say it’s perfectly normal to talk to yourself; you’re only crazy if you talk back.

6. Cherish every interaction.
Take an interest in every person that comes into your life, even if for only a second. Listen closely to what they say. Watch carefully what they do. Try to understand them as a person. You’ll be better for it.

7.  Make plans for the future, and pursue them as soon as possible.
Pursue your plans immediately. Don’t put them off. Don’t wait for the perfect opportunity. Perfect never comes, and the longer you wait, the harder it is to get started.

Tips for a good CV

  1. Your CV should be laser-printed in black ink using a plain typeface, on good quality A4 white/cream paper. Decorative borders are not necessary, nor are photographs of yourself.
  2. Your CV should ideally cover no more than two pages and never more than three. Aim to ensure the content is clear, structured, concise and relevant. Using bullet points rather than full sentences can help minimise word usage
  3. A basic CV may need tailoring to each job application.
  4. The completed CV needs to be checked carefully for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes and to ensure that it makes sense. Ask an 'independent' party to review the whole document before it is sent out.
  5. Remember when writing and structuring your CV that it is essentially marketing you and that a potential employer will use the details provided to form interview questions. It should be clear and easy to read. Gaps in career history should be explained and falsehoods and inaccuracies avoided at all costs.
  6. There is no reason to include your reasons for leaving each job on your CV but be prepared to answer these questions in your interview.
  7. Current salary details should not be included.
  8. A good covering letter should always accompany your CV.

You cannot chase two rabbits at the same time.

Can you imagine chasing two rabbits at the same time? It’s sort of impossible. The best thing to do would be to catch the rabbits one at a time. You can apply the same principle to many aspects in life like whenever you attempt to juggle too many things at once you may end up being unsuccessful, or you may not get the job done as well as you could have. The idea is to take on about as much as you can manage and then from there you can increase the amounts slowly. Too often we are in such a rush to get things done that we do not focus on the efficiency of it. I will definitely not make that mistake!
